The Washtenaw County Circuit Court has outlined its basic position on Property Division, including case law upon which it relies.

This applies to all divorce cases, regardless of whether children are involved.

The following information has been quoted from the Washtenaw County website which is "public domain." Updated on divorcePeers.com April 6, 2005.

"The purpose of the personal financial statement is to provide complete, timely disclosure of financial information in order to facilitate settlement and minimize the need for extensive interrogatories." This form further contains the following language (in all caps): "Each party must provide the other with a completed copy of this Verified Personal Financial Statement within twenty one (21) days after defendant files this first responsive pleading or appearance (statement not required if defendant files nothing with the Court Clerk). This Statement is not in place of other discovery, and providing the Statement does not limit other discovery permitted by law. Do not file this Statement with the Court Clerk."
